The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) has released a landmark publication titled Delivering Digital Credentials and Digital Trust Services, setting a foundational vision for how Canada can advance secure, interoperable, and privacy-preserving digital credentials.

AffinitiQuest is proud to announce that its Chief Technology Officer, Ben Piercey, served as a contributor to this important national initiative. The publication underscores the need for consistent standards and collaboration across public and private sectors to enable trusted digital interactions, enhance interoperability, and strengthen Canada’s position in the emerging global digital trust ecosystem.
“Canada is taking a leading role in establishing the frameworks necessary for a trusted digital economy,” said Ben Piercey, CTO of AffinitiQuest. “The SCC’s work demonstrates how industry and government can come together to define practical standards that ensure security, privacy, and interoperability—values that are at the core of everything we do at AffinitiQuest.”
The SCC’s publication highlights key priorities for Canada’s digital future, including standardization of credential formats, governance of digital trust services, and the development of an interoperable ecosystem aligned with international frameworks. These efforts mirror AffinitiQuest’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-assurance, standards-based solutions that empower organizations to issue, manage, and verify digital credentials with confidence.
